I have had the privilege of working with Marcia from Gem’s Advisory since around 2016/2017, and throughout that time she has been delivering training for our organisation. The experience has been nothing short of exceptional.
Marcia brings a level of professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care that is rare to find. Her sessions are always delivered with the highest standards, and the way she supports and engages with our learners is truly inspiring. What stands out most is her commitment to ensuring every participant feels supported, understood, and confident in their learning.
Over the years, I have personally learned so much from her - not only through the training itself but through her guidance, advice, and the way she shares her wealth of experience. As a business owner, working with Marcia has helped me grow in confidence and understanding within the sector.
One of the biggest indicators of the quality of her work is that we have never needed to advertise our training. Participants come through word of mouth, which speaks volumes about the impact and reputation of the sessions delivered through Gem’s Advisory.
Marcia consistently goes above and beyond to provide outstanding professional advice and support. Gem’s Advisory is truly an incredible training organisation that delivers exceptional services, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality training delivered with integrity, care, and professionalism.

GEM’s services are excellent. From the very first contact in 2019 GEM Advisory, Marcia Tatham, has been an asset to the nursery and subsequent nurseries. Her passion for the Early Years sector and the skills of Early Years practitioners is an inspiration for the owner, management and nursery team. All training and support are relevant, and delivered in a practical way to make it easily understandable and implementable by the Team.
As the owner, GEM’s professionalism, dedication and commitment to the nurseries are top notch. Their support and development of the team through various trainings, on-site visits and management support gave me confidence in management’s knowledge and development to facilitate a stepping back from the daily operations of the nurseries to focus on expanding the business. I was always kept updated about GEM’s plans and support for the management, staff and children, and received regular progress updates on management performance/developmental requirements/next steps.
Staff confidence in carryout their roles, understanding and implementation of EYFS has developed solidly, especially during the transitioning to the new EYFS requirements, following trainings and continued support from GEM.
The advice and trainings provided have seen staff embedding the requirements of the EYFS into the curriculum with greater understanding, planning for children’s learning and development and updating the displays and contents of their rooms to enhance children’s learning and their learning environment.
Following the trainings provided by GEM, staff better understand how to plan for children with additional needs and to extend children’s learning by following their interests. Due to greater understanding regarding children’s development and implementing the knowledge gained from the various trainings, the Team was confident in their abilities and knowledge during Ofsted inspections.
GEM has also supported management on staff welfare and development. Marcia’s warmth, approachability and engaging personality encourages staff to built on their passions for working with children, managing their time and prioritising the requirements of their roles so that the working environment is enjoyable for them and their peers. Marcia is always willing to speak with and encourage staff and they thrive in having her expertise and willingness to answer their queries to improve and develop their skills.
The management team has grown in confidence on the delivery of their roles due to trainings, and on-site and telephone support offered by GEM. The on-going support provided by GEM to the management in understanding the requirements of the EYFS and its implementation in practice, their roles, and supporting staff and their development, has seen what was a fairly junior management team develop in knowledge, confidence and skills.
The nurseries have evaluated their teachings and practices in line with the knowledge gained and the practical guidance received on the implementation of the new requirements of the EYFS. Children continue to thrive and enjoy their time at the nurseries and are benefiting from the approaches advised by GEM in how the nurseries could enhance children’s learning and experiences by implementing practices that have greater emphasis on child led learning while reducing paperwork requirements for staff. GEM has been instrumental in providing staff with practical guidance on how to make children’s learning more wholesome and interactive, which has seen children growing in confidence in understanding and exploring the world around them.
GEM is delivering an excellent service with a passion for children’s and staff development, and good practices in the Early Years at the heart of its offerings. Rainbow Angels Nurseries & Learning Centres highly recommend GEM!
